Hausen Coat of Arms

Shield Vert, a farm house Argent with half timber Sable.
Meaning:
Local seals from 1811 already displayed a house with smoking chimney, a canting element. In 1902 the municipality applied for an amendation. In the house, displayed on the arms, the poet Johann Peter Hebel, born 1760 in Basel, spent his youth. The house had been built in 1562, was modified later and is today seat of a local museum and memorial of the poet.
