Shield Or, a swallowtail Sable, in chief a 6-point star Gules.
Meaning:
The arms show a swallow's tail as a canting element (Schwalbe=swallow). The symbol already appeared on the boundary stones in 1725 and a bit later in the local seals. The star was added in 1804. The arms were finally approved in 1953 by Minister of Interior of Hesse.
