Moosbach Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above parted per pale, at dexter Sable a lion rampant Or, crowned, armed and tongued Gules; at sinister lozengy of Argent and Azure; beneath Argent issuant from waves Azure a bunch of leaves Vert with three bulrushes Sable.
Meaning:
The arms actually were granted to mayors, councilmen and municipalities of the Treswitz Court District in 1543. Moosbach, then being a suburb of Treswitz, since 1544 used a seal, displaying the pattern in a targe with a angel with outspread wings as supporter. Lion and lozenges are parts of the arms of any branch of the Wittelsbach kin. The lower half is canting with the bulrushes referring to a swamp (Bavarian: Moos) and the waves to a creek (German: Bach). In 1605 the town applied for an excluse use of that arms, which was granted.
