It is a white-red vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is shifted towards the top in a yellow Baroque cartouche with three yellow birds in pale on either side (see left image above) or with the version of arms reported in 1965 (see right image above).

Shield Gules a fess dancetty Argent.
Meaning:
Geisenfeld was first mentioned as a market town in 1310. It was elevated to a city in 1952. A local constitution was adopted in 1407, city walls were built in the same year. Prints of the oldest town seals are proven since 1412. They displayed a fess dancetty in a triangular shield. It had been the same pattern like that of the namesake Benedictine nunnery. It had been the oldest coat of arms of the Counts of Wittelsbach-Scheyern. Otto Hupp (1925) displayed a white fess in a red shield, like before armourials of the 16th century and the architectural sculpture at the town hall from 1626. Werning (1701), Klemens Stadler (1965) and the medal of the mayor (1820) and all later town seals displayed a red fess in a white shield.
