Renaissance shield Azure two heron necks Argent addorsed beaked Gules.
Meaning:
In 1449 Duke Heinrich of Bayern granted the rights of a market town. The oldest town seal from 1499 displayed the heron necks with embowed beaks in a Spanish shield. The herons (German: Reiher) are canting. The tinctures are known since the 19th century and are alluding to the rule of the Wittelsbach kin. The town belonged to the Duchy of Bayern and afterwards since 1505 to the Principality of Pfalz-Neuburg.
