Shield Or on central peak of a triplemount issuant Vert a raven statant Sable.
Meaning:
Located on a mountain above the Weißeritz River Rabenau was centre of a little lordship under sovereignty of the Margraves of Meißen and enfeoffed to the Burgraves of Dohna in the 14th and 15th century. It was called a town around 1300. Rabenau gained city rights in 1488. The raven is a canting element and was known by town arms in 1454, 1487 and 1488. The pattern remained basically the same. In 1925 the raven was depicted without mount, before 1989 on top of a black triplemount.
