Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess by a crenelly line into silver (=white) and red. In the silver field is a black horse harness closed by a red ribbon. The red field is divided by two golden (=yellow) bars.
Meaning:
According to source the harness is alluding to the lords of Ense, the red field with bars is taken from the arms of the barons of Fürstenberg, whose seat was Waterlappe castle within the municipality's boundaries. The crenelly line is also symbolizing that castle.
