It is a black-white-blue vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is shifted towards the top (see left image above), sometimes completely on the white stripe (see right image above).

Shield parted by a broad fess wavy Azure, above Sable a pale Argent charged with the head of a crozier of the same, beneath Argent three flowers Vert in fan.
Meaning:
The fess wavy is a canting element for a pond (German: Teich) and by its central position also referring to the middle (German: Mitte). The green flowers are representing a meadow surrounding the pond. The blossoms sometimes are yellow. The upper half of the arms is reminding on the rule of the Cistercian Waldsassen Monastery.

The colours of the banner are traditonal. The arms were granted in 1516 by Abbot Andreas of Waldsassen. Both were confirmed on 19 July 1967 by Minister of Interior of Bayern.
