Description of the Flag

The same article is published in the Alton Herald and Petersfield Herald, located by Dave Fowler. The picture caption reads: "Raising the flag are Nick Charman (Beech Village Hall Chairman), Damian Hinds (East Hampshire MP) and Ruth Dewing, who designed the logo for the flag.

On the origin of the flag, "Mr Charman said: “The village hall flagpole, other than for celebrations such as the Queen’s Jubilee, is usually bare. So the hall committee decided to put a flag on it – and chose a Beech village flag, with the village logo. We thought it would be a bit of fun (not to take ourselves seriously) to have a ‘formal’ flag-raising at the June social."

The flag raising ceremony took place at the Village Hall on Friday, 30 June 2017, after meeting local villagers gathered at the Hall for their monthly Village Social, in this case, the June Social.
