Situated on the border between the Carmel and Sharon regions, about 40 kms south to Haifa, Local Council Binyamina (named after Baron Benjamin (Edmond) Rothschild, the most famous of the Rothschilds) was founded in 1922 and has 5,000 inh.
In my visit of 4 September 2001, no flag was hoisted in the Local Council. I was told that in case of need (which means on independence day), they use the emblem on a monochrome background. I drew it on white but it could be also on other backgrounds. The municipal emblem has not been published in the official gazette (Rashumot) and is thus unofficial.

Mr. Y. Peternak, city clerk, wrote me:

A. The LC doesn't have official flag and we are satisfied which stamping our emblem on textiles in different colours.
B. Here is coloured emblem.
C. The emblem was approved with the proclamation of the council by the minister of the interior, and was published in the Regulations Collection by law.

However I checked again my notes but could not find the publication of the emblem. I will have to check it. In any case, emblems are not published in the 'Regulations Collection' (Kovetz ha'Takanot) section of the official gazette Rashumot), but in the 'Publications Gazette' Yalkut ha'Pirsumim (YP in short).

In another visit I located two flags. Blue outlined emblem on light blue and orange.

Local Council Binyamina and Local Council Giv'at Ada are united into Local Council Binyamina-Giv'at Ada. Those symbols are probably obsolete.
