Alternattiva Demokratika (AD) seceded in 1989 from Malta Labour Party
in order to promote ecological issues and to protest against corruption within
the MLP. The headquarter of AD is located in Sliema. According to wikipedia.org
the best result of AD in a general election was less than 2%.
Description of
flag:
It is a green flag with a yellow sun, having a smiling
face of green lines. The sun is surrounded by a white circle. Below the sun
within the circle is a white bar bearing the name in Maltese in green capitals: “Alternattiva
Demokratika”.

The AD uses a logo and flag, that are very obviously derived from their
Italian counterparts. The circular logo shows
the "smiling sun" ("il sole che ride") in exactly the same graphical
representation as the Italian counterpart. The only difference is, that the
white field bears the inscription "Alternattiva Demokratika" instead of "Verdi".
The flag shows the logo on a green field. There are obviously a few (very minor)
variations of the flag, i.e. perhaps one variant with a more bluish shade of
green, and one variant where the ring around the logo is not plainly white, but
there is a thin green ring inside, like in the flag of the Italian Verdi.
The youth organization (ADZ) does not seem to have an own flag, only a logo.
Unfortunately the merchandise shop of the party does not provide flags, but
mainly t-shirts.
