Designed by the architect Humberto Murillo Lozano. Description according to Héraldica Municipal de Chihuahua:
Espíritu Santo de Moris [Holy Spirit of] was the original name of this municipality. Its shield composes six sections over Spanish field, their blazons are: a horse of Arab origin, an arquebus and sword make allusion to the presence of the Spaniards, the symbol of the Jesuits in remembrance of the evangelizers of this region, a blanket, a violin, a guare [sic; guitar], and a drum make reference to the Tarahuma artisanry, half of the shield is occupied by mountains in reference to the environment, a plate for the washing of sands in search of nuggets of gold reminds us of the gold seekers, a tool to miners, a pine the forestal wealth. In the margin or bordure in its upper part, it carries fruits in reference to those which are produced in the ravines, in the lower part the symbols Pb, Ag, Au, which represent respectively lead, silver, and gold which are extracted in its mines; the bordure in its vertical sides carry parts of leaves of madrone, the original name Espíritu Santo de Moris goes in a ribbon over the shield, the year 1690 corresponds to the foundation of the population.
The upper part of the border also carries the name "MORIS CHIHUAHUA"; to its left the code 08 for the state and to the right 047 as the code for the municipality,
most often used by INEGI for statistical purposes. To the right of the gold pan is a cattle head facing to the viewer signifying the cattle-raising industry in front of a mound.
