Shield Azure with base wavy Argent charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, issuant from base an ancient ship Or garnished Gules rigged Argent stowed with wine barrels, in chief a horseshoe Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "CASTEDO - ALIJÓ".
Meaning:
The ship is a traditional Douro River sailboat used wine barrel transport (rabelo).
