Shield Or, issuant from base a mount Vert, charged with a cat passant Argent and crowned by a belfry Sable, masoned Or with bell Gules and clock Or, flanked by two heraldic fountains. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank)and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "MÊDA, OUTEIRO DE GATOS E FONTE LONGA".
Meaning:
The charges are representing the pre-2013 independent communes. The belfry is representing Mêda, the fountains Fonte Longa, mount and cat Outeiro de Gatos.

Mêda, Outeiro de Gatos e Fonte Longa is one of the three communes of Mêda Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes as a united commune (União das Freguesias de Mêda, Outeiro de Gatos e Fonte Longa) and renamed on 11 February 2015. It had 2399 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 50,95 km².

Shield Or, a belfry Azure masoned Argent with clock of the same and bell Gules, flanked by two grapevines Purpure leafed Vert, in chief a cross patty Gules charged with a Greek cross Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "FREGUESIA DE MEDA".
Meaning:
The cross is referring to the Order of the Knights of Christ .

Mêda was one of the eight communes of Mêda Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 1987 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 27,9 km².

Shield Argent, a waterspout fountain Azure, spitting water of the same, in chief two cats passant respectant Sable, issuant from base a mount Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "OUTEIRO DE GATOS".
Meaning:
The commune´s name means "hill of cats". Cats and mount are thus canting elements. The fountain is referring to local hot springs.
