It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of white and blue.

Shield Azure with base wavy of Argent and Vert, crowned by a sailing boat Sable garnished and rigged Argent with a fishnet Sable superimposing the base wavy, in central chief a sun radiant Or with face. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "TORREIRA".

The flag was white, the coat of arms had the same shield and scroll as current one but with mural crown Argent with three visible towers.
