It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of green and yellow.

Coat of Arms

Shield Or with base wavy of Argent and Azure,issuant from base a mount Vert, on centre three wheat ears Vert in fan tied Purpure, on either chief corner a bee Sable garnished Argent. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and short white scroll, in Bénard Guedes style, reading in black upper case serifed letters "".
Meaning:
The base wavy is a representation of the Vouga River, the mount of the Arada Mountains. Ears and bees represent two important business lines, agriculture and apiary.

Calde is one of the 18 communes of Viseu Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 1271 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 38,36 km².
