Description of the flag

The flag is described as "The Zoroastrian Flag of Earth Friendliness & Universal Brotherhood" at http://www.indiayellowpages.com/zoroastrian//. Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoroastrianism) reports that "Zoroastrianism is the religion and philosophy based on the teachings ascribed to the prophet Zoroaster (Zarathustra, Zartosht)...Zoroastrianism was once the dominant religion of much of Western- and Central Asia but as of 2007 practiced only by fewer than 200,000 worldwide, with its largest center in India."

A Zoroastrian website www.avesta.org/zsuppliers.htm offers Zorastrian Flag decals, describing them as "Red/Yellow/Blue: Yellow middle with two blue seven- oint stars and centerd Farohar" [the wiki page cited above offers the definition: "Faravahar (or Ferohar), one of the primary symbols of Zoroastrianism, believed to be the depiction of a Fravashi (guardian spirit)"- with example shown there]

Numerous examples of this flag in actual use can be seen at the website of Zoroastrian College of Sanjan, India ( www.indiayellowpages.com/zoroastrian/ ) with two of the clearest photos at www.indiayellowpages.com/zoroastrian/index.14.jpg and www.indiayellowpages.com/zoroastrian/index.24.jpg. There is also an unidentified flag shown in the first photo on the right at the main page of the college- perhaps the college flag?

At http://parsiana.com/archives/articles.asp?issue_id=23&section_id=4 the creation of the Zoroastrian flag is attributed to Jehangir Medhora of Toronto, Canada.

Also, according to an old "Zorastrianism and Hinduism" Answers.com article, taken from Wikipedia, but no longer included in the current wikipedia Zoroastrianism and Hinduism page, Zoroastrians used a two-pointed white triangular flag. College flag

On the webpage at http://www.indiayellowpages.com/zoroastrian// (first photo on the right) is a blue flag - perhaps the flag of the [Zoroastrian] college?

The second flag is the Zoroastrian College flag. This was designed by Late Dr. Siegfried Hermerding of Germany. It is the blue flag with the white circle in the centre and the Asho Farohar symbol with its wings around the world.
