The Coat of Arms and Flag of Mezhova Rayon
(Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine) were designed by O.Potap and
adopted by local council on October 31, 2003. The main symbols
are thresher and Cossac's lance.

"It was confirmed at October, 31st, 2003 by regional council
session. The rectangular panel with a ratio of the sides as 2:3
is divided into four equal rectangular fields; on the top from a
staff and on the bottom from free edge in yellow fields are red
crossed cossack pikes with flappers, other two fields are
green."

"It was confirmed at October, 31st, 2003 by regional council
session. The shield per pale by or and vert. Two gules cossack
pikes and two gules flappers are crosswised and bound. The board
is topped by the or stylized crown as an wheaten sheaf which
specifies the advanced agriculture and fertility. The board is
surrounded by the wreath from marigolds, framed by dark-blue tape
with an or inscription "MEZHIVS'KYI REGION". Marigolds
grow in manors of area inhabitants, personify beauty of the local
nature and sincerity of people. The author is O.Potap. Shield
division displays border and personifies the name of area which
is on border of three Katerynoslavs'ka province former districts:
Bahmuts'kyi, Oleksandrivs'kyi, Pavlohrads'kyi. Now it is located
on the border of Dnipropetrovs'ka and Donets'ka oblast'. Cossack
pikes display the past of territory in which many settlements
have arisen during cossack time as sentry posts (Slovyanka) or
cossack villages (Ivanivka, Pidhorodne, Novopavlivka, etc.)
Flappers are symbol of agricultural work. Gules personifies
courage, glory and viability, reminds of numerous victims of
revolutions, wars, famine which were transferred by local
residents. Or is a symbol of region with the advanced
agriculture. Vert symbolizes the picturesque nature of territory
and also pleasure and well-being. Colors of the arms repeat the
old arms of Pavlohrad region to which belonged part of modern
Mezhivs'kyi region."
