August 14, 2007: Estes Park debuts new town flag after large voter participation - Town makes flags available for purchase

After 3,574 votes were cast, a clear winner emerged in the recently sponsored Town Flag Contest. The new flag was unveiled at the Town's ice cream social on  Tuesday, August 7th. The event ended quickly due to rain, but the winning flag was made official. Mayor John Baudek said, "I was pleased with the overwhelming participation in choosing the new Town Flag. All members of the community voted, including the elementary, middle and high school students. Choosing the new Town Flag was a true community effort."

The new official Town flag received 61% of the vote and can be seen flying at many Town buildings including Town Hall and the Fire Department. The flag contest was held in honor of Estes Park's 90th Anniversary of Incorporation. Voting took place during May and June, mostly through ballots that were included in utility billing.
