Here is what I received from Town Clerk's Office of the Town of Burrillville, Rhode Island:
"The flag is the Town's coat of arms on a white field with the year of Burrillville's incorporation and Town of Burrillville. The town is named for James O. Burrill, Esq., Attorney General of RI. Our coat of arms is designed directly from the family coat of arms of the Burrills in England. Its official coloring is described as follows: Or a saltire gules, on a chief azure a crescent between two etoiles pierced of six points of the first. This is translated to: upper part has blue background with gold stars and moon, and bottom part has gold background with red cross.
