Description of the flag

On Google Maps, the flag of Glocester can be seen flying. It seems to be the coat of arms on a white background with a ribbon below it.

Earlier version of the flag

An older version of the Glocester flag consists of the coat of arms centered on a white bedsheet, "RHODE ISLAND" written towards the bottom in black, and "1776" and "1976" on either side of the coat of arms, tilted about 45 degrees to the left and right respectively. Unusually, the escroll is red with yellow text and not the other way around.

Judging by the details, we can infer that the flag was made to commemorate the U.S. Bicentennial in 1976.
