The Tsleil-Waututh were formerly known in English as the "Burrard Band". They were one of the "four host nations" of the Vancouver Olympics. Author and actor Chief Dan George was the chief in the 60s and 70s, and has been succeeded by his son, and now his grandson. The first syllable is pronounced like "slay", at least by English speakers. The wolf symbol was recoloured Blue and
Green for use on the arms and flag of Belcarra, B.C., part of the Tsleil-Waututh traditional lands.
