Despite living in the Torres Strait islands, the Kaurareg nation are closer to mainland Aboriginal people than to other Torres Strait Islanders. This is reflected in the use of the Aboriginal flag on their webpage and the use of the Aboriginal colours in the Kaurareg flag.
