The coat of arms of Kalesija is prescribed by Decision Odluka o usvajanju grba Općine (Kalesija) (text), adopted on 14 October 1995 by the Municipal Assembly.
The coat of arms is a shield, outlined in black, divided into
three fields, top green containing the date "1151" between a fleur-de-lis and crescent or and sabre and a saz-šargija (music
instrument), the central light blue with the white depction of the
Atik Mosque minaret issuing from a white fimbriated dark blue wavy
line and the base of green with golden ribbon inscribed with the
name of the municipality in black.
The coat of arms is described in the Decision: however, the color of the central field is described as "either light blue or white, while the
minaret in it is described as brown, even though it is apparently shown white in all versions in use. Moreover, the blue and white versions
of the arms seem to be in use somewhat concurrently. The
description calls for two blue wavy lines at the bottom of the
central field, while the drawings in use show a single
blue line fimbriated white.
The year "1151" and its inclusion in the coat of arms is a mystery. The wavy line represents river Sreča on which Kalesia is
situated. The Atik Mosque, built in the 16th century, is situated in the village of Tojšići (Wikipedia).
