The symbols of Ljubuški are described in the Municipal Statutes Statut Općine Ljubuški, adopted on 9 November 2006 by the Municipal Council and published on 10 November 2006 in the Municipal official gazette Službeni glasnik Općine Ljubuški, No. 4, although they were adopted earlier than 1999.
The flag (photo) is described in Article 9 of the Statutes as follows:
The flag is bicolor, blue and white, but vertically divided into three fields, the first and last being blue and the central white. In the centre is the coat of arms. The proportions of the fields are 28% of the total width for the first blue field, 44% for the central white field and 28% for the final blue field.

Coat of arms of Ljubuški - Image by Željko Heimer, 23 June 2011
The coat of arms is described in Article 8 of the Statutes as follows:
The coat of arms of Ljubuški is in a heart-shaped [actually, semi-circular] shield, bordered with a yellow line edged with two black lines. In the shield is a gray hill from which is raising the medieval town of Ljubuški depicted in yellow and outlined black. The town is reconstructed as it could have been looking in the Middle Ages when Ljubuški was at its climax. Below the town is represented the Trebižat river, with a wavy blue stripe. The background behind the tower is sky light blue. At the top of the shield are streching three red rectangles, between which one can glimpse two white fields. Below the shield is a ceremonial twisted ribbon inscribed Ljubuški and the year of its first written mention, "1444-MCDXLIV".
