Transtank (aka Belgische Tankrederij N.V. [Belgian Tanker Shipping Co.]) was a Van Ommeren (The Netherlands) owned company established at Antwerp. It seems to
have been called Belgtank as well, perhaps unofficially.
Belgian Transtank was founded, with a number of other companies, in the 1950s when Van Ommeren was obliged - by the Common Market, I believe - to
split up his large company, operating more than two hundred tanker vessels at the time. The period of activity is 1953-1984 plus 1999, in one instance. I suppose that all subcompanies disappeared when Van Ommeren merged with Pakhoed to form Vopak.
The house flag of Transtank, as offerred on the auction site 2dehands.be (March 2009), is made of five horizontal stripes red-white-red-white-red, with, in the centre, the Van Ommeren logo (a black "V" inscribed into a black "O") placed against a white diamond encroaching upon the stripes, shifted somewhat to the hoist.
