Founded in 1969, the firm, based in Sint-Job-in-'t-Goor to the north-east of Antwerp, is active in the ARA ports (Antwerp, Rotterdam,
Amsterdam) and other places such as Flushing (Vlissingen), Zeebrugge, Ghent, etc. This implies the usual bunkering facitilies such as storage, bunkering boats, tankers, etc.
The company name reflects the family business; the Verbekes were
already busy shipping bulk goods at the end of the XIXth century but took up
the oil delivery trade later on. Cooperating with Texaco in the past, the
firm now calls itself "the leading independent bunker supplier in Belgium".

Verbeke's house flag, as shown hoisted on tankers and as a table flag on the company website, is yellow and has a rather striking logo in the centre: a stylized V, yellow within black holding lines, placed on a white, black-rimmed disk; over the disk and intruding upon the yellow field is a yellow band, also within black holding lines, bearing the name VERBEKE, seriffed. Under the disk we read the word BUNKERING in black letters, sans seriffed.
