The municipality of Concórdia (74,641 inhabitants in 2019; 79,988 ha) is
located on the border with Rio Grande, 450 km west of Florianópolis.

Description of the Flag
The flag and arms of Concórdia are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 955
promulgated on 18 November 1968.
Article 2.
The coat of arms is
composed as follows: A classic Portuguese shield, divided per pale gules (red)
and vert (green) grafted in base (azure). In chief a dove passant argent
symbolizing peace, harmony and concord, the municipality's namesake. In base,
the emblem of commerce and industry or, representing Concórdia's industrial and
commercial resources. In base, beneath the Southern Cross argent, river Uruguai
of the same. The first symbolizes the Brazilian sky, while the second is an
emblem of friendship as the division between Concórdia and Rio Grande do Sul,
representing the beautiful cascade of the river. As supporters two wheat plants
proper (vert or or); beneath, between the shield and the scroll, thee spikes
gules, charged with the municipality's name, "Concórdia", or. The shield
surmounted by a four-towered crown or, symbolizing like all crowns on coat of
arms municipal autonomy. Gules (red), vert (green) and azure (blue) represent
valor, intrepidity and dedication, hope, abundance and municipal liberty. The
nobleness and serenity of people, always ready to work in peace for the
municipality's wealth and welfare of the municipality, the state and the nation,
are represented by or and argent.
Article 3.
The municipal flag is
described as follows: Vertically divided, charged in the center with a white
lozenge featuring the municipal coat of arms prescribed in Article 2,
substituting or and argent by yellow and white, respectively.

The flag of the Concórdia Volunteer Firefighteers is diagonally divided
red-green from lower upper hoist to upper fly, charged in the center with a
white lozenge inscribing the firefighters' emblem.
