Description of the flag

Madawaska county, New Brunswick, Canada.

I made this image from an image available on the villages's website in 2000. Adapted from municipal documentation in French:

The shield on the flag includes a silver antique bridge, symbolizing that Clair is located at the border with the USA, being an entrance and exit point for both countries. There is indeed a bridge over the St. John River linking Clair to Fort Kent Maine. The pinecone symbolizes the traditional friendship between the two countries and the two communities (Maine being the Pine Tree State), as well as the family ties that exist between Clair and Fort Kent. St. Francis's cord reminds us of the patron Saint of the Clair parish. The wheel represents industry, and is an allusion to Clair's Industrial Park. Inside the wheel is a maple leaf symbol of Canada. The three purple violets (viola cucullata) identify Clair as a New Brunswick municipality, being the provincial flower emblem since 1936.
