Ville de Cap-Rouge (1872-2002). I saw the plain white version in the Summer
of 1996 and the version with a blue cross in the Summer of 1999. The three
pinecones are probably taken from Jacques Cartier's arms (which were azure
with three golden pinecones). Jacques Cartier claimed Canada in the name of
France and unsuccessfully tried to implement a French colony at Cap-Rouge in
1541, during his third voyage.
