On 1 January 2015 the new commune of Albula/Alvra was formed through the merger of Alvaneu, Alvaschein,
Brienz/Brinzauls, Mon, Stierva, Surava and Tiefencastel.
The wavy bars on the new emblem symbolize the Albula river.
Alvra is the Romansh name of Albula.
Or St. Maurice stantant armoured Azure ensigned with a Cross of the first holding in dexter a lace
Gules with a pennant of the second with the cross of the first throughout and in sinister attached to his
belt a sword Argent hilted and pommed of the first.
