The new emblem of Bioggio is composed of the emblems of the former communes which merged with Bioggio
in 2004. The red-blue background refers to the colours of the cantonal arms.
On 4 April 2004 the commune of Bioggio merged with Bosco Luganese and Cimo. It kept its old name but got
a new emblem.
On 20 April 2008 the commune of Iseo joined them (see below).
Gules a bar conjoined in chief with a pale nebully between three fleurs-de-lis all argent.

The flag of Bioggio is a bit topographical as it symbolizes the river Riana flowing into river Vedeggio.

The animal on the flag of Iseo is a stone-marten (in Italian faina, Latin martes foina)
after the nickname given to the inhabitants.
