Shield parted per pale, at dexter Or an initial "L" Sable, at sinister Sable a lion rampant Or.
Meaning:
Lorch belonged to Württemberg in the 15th century. The first seal with prints from 1512 only displayed the initial. Lorch gained the title of a city in 1865. The tinctures of the arms were fixed in 1927. Lorch had belonged to the heartland of the Staufen kin until 1255, The Staufen kin established the Benedictine Monastery of Lorch in 1122 and its members were also the reeves of the monastery. The Staufen lion was added in 1934 in counterchanged colours. Remains of the monastery are still existing, although it had been closed in 1535 by Württemberg.
