Description of flag:
It is a red-yellow-red-yellow-red-yellow-red banner with the coat of arms shifted to the top. The ratio between stripes is 1:1:1:9:1:1:1.
Description of coat of arms:
In a red shield is a golden(=yellow) letter "A".
Meaning:
The current coat of arms is, according to Friedhelm Bracht, an official of Marsberg-Obermarsberg, a simplified version of the former coat of arms of the city of Obermarsberg and was granted in 1975 to the complete city. The "A" you can see on ancient coins in the hand of cities patron St.Peter. The existence can be proven since the 13th century. According to local traditions St.Peters was the very first Christian church in ancient Saxonian territory (770). Additional information at: Veddeler 2003, p.177 and Stadler 1972, p.75
Banner and coat of arms were approved by Regierungspräsident Arnsberg on 24 March 1977.

Description of flag:
The flags ratio is 3:5. It is a blue over yellow over blue horizontal triband with ratio 1:3:1. The coat of arms is in the centre of the middle stripe.
Description of coat of arms:
In a blue shield is a golden(=yellow) winged lion of St.Marc holding a crozier of the same colour.
Meaning:
According to Wikipedia blue and golden were the colours of Padberg kin. St. Marc was patron saint of the local parish church. The crozier reminds at Bredelar abbey. The arms were approved to the former municipality on 20 February 1961.

The flags ratio is 3:5. It is a black over white over black horizontal triband with ratio 1:3:1. The coat of arms is in the centre of the middle stripe.
Description of coat of arms:
Under a silver(=white) wall masoned black and having an open embowed gate is a silver(=white) fountain in a black field.
Meaning:
According to Wikipedia the arms are canting. Another German translation of "fountain" is "Born". The colours are those of the archbishopric and electorate of Köln. The arms were approved to the former municipality on 8 August 1966.

The flags ratio is 3:5. The flag is vertically divided with ratio approx 3:2. The hoist field is divided by a fessy wavy line into black and white. The black field is divided by a red and white checkered bendlet sinister, which is superimposing a yellow bendy crozier. The fly field is horizontally divided into yellow over black.
Description of coat of arms:
It is the hoist field of the local flag decribed above.
Meaning:
According to Wikipedia the arms were approved to the former municipality on 16 January 1959. The wavy line is symbolizing Hoppecke creek. The other parts formed the arms of the abbey of Bredelar.

Meaning:
According to Wikipedia the former municipality overtook the arms of Rabe von Pappenheim kin, who had been local rulers in 1342. The arms were approved on 23 Mai 1960.

The flags ratio is 3:5. It is a yellow over blue over yellow horizontal triband with ratio 1:3:1. The coat of arms is in the centre of the blue stripe.
Description of coat of arms:
In a golden (=yellow) shield is a blue and white chequered bendy line. Out of the line comes a blue crozier (or "Abtkrümmen").
Meaning:
According to Stadler 1972, p.74 the bendy line is taken from the the lords of Horhusen. They lived in Niedermarsberg from 11th to 16th century.

The flags ratio is 1:1. It is an armorial flag.
Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per pale into black and silver(=white). The black field is divided by a red and silver(=white) checkered bendlet sinister, which is superimposing a golden(=yellow) bendy crozier. The other field shows a monk with a walking-stick dressed in a black robe.
Meaning:
According to Wikipedia the flag is based upon a sculpture standing in the local church. It is symbolizing the former close relationships between the abbey of Bredelar and the order of the Cistercians in the middle ages. The arms were approved to the former municipality on 13 June 1958.

The shield shows the coat of arms of the lords of Horhusen. They were connected with city and castle from 11th to 16th century.

The shield shows a former variant of the coat of arms of nowadays city of Marsberg. The "A" is more old fashioned. There is a french shield topped by a stone grey mural crown.

A golden(=yellow) shield is divided by a red saltire. In each quarter is a blue heart.
Meaning:
According to Wikipedia the municipality of Oesdorf had a different coat of arms: In a red shield is a sinister bendy silver ear of grain. Above right is a golden coronet, below left a golden bell. I have no information about the arms shown on the flag.
