Description of banner:
It is a black - yellow vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is shifted to the top. The rear side is a plain bicolour.

Description of coat of arms:
In a golden (= yellow) shield is a pair of black keys crossed per saltire. They are topped by an initial "R" of the same colour.
Meaning:
Renningen gained the title of a city on 1 January 1982. The initial "R" is considered tob e a local symbol of Renningen in 1682. The keys are attributes of St. Peter, the local patron saint. They had been depicted in various configurations since 1757.

The banner was approved on 10 June 1959 by minister of interior of Baden Württemberg, published in GABl 331/1959. The coat of arms was approved due to a suggestion of the State Archive Stuttgart in 1927.
