Coat of Arms

Shield Sable, a seal Or, charged Gules, in centre a king Argent holding a sword and a distaff, surrounded by a castle Gules with open port and three embattled towers and a circumscription in red capitals as follows: "+S.IMPII.SACRI.CASTRENSIUM.DE.GLOVBVRGH"
Meaning:
Ralf Hartemink claims that the arms are referring to archaeological excavations in the region between 1994 and 2000, when Celtic graves had been discovered. The seal however seems to be from a later time, and the castle in the seal is probably a modification of the arms of the Lords of Glauburg. Their castle in the municipality had been destroyed by rivals in 1256 and the family moved to Frankfurt/Main.
