Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
Upon the base of the blue shield is a silver (=white) rising, embattled wall, masoned black. In the centre of the wall is an embattled tower having a black gate. Above the wall is a silver (=white) image of a church. Between its towers is a silver (=white) inescutcheon showing a red, rampant lion, crowned, armed and tongued blue and superimposed by a blue label.
Meaning:
According to source the building is the parish church devoted to St. Nicolas, the wall is symbolizing city rights and the inescutcheon is symbolizing the counts of Berg, the former rulers.
