Shield black, issuant from base is a silver embattled wall, masoned black. Issuant from wall is a golden lion; armed, tongued and crowned red, holding an inescutcheon in his fore paws. The inescutcheon is golden, displaying a "cross of atonement", shifted to the dexter side and to the top, held in base by a black lion's fore paw armed red.
Meaning:
The current arms are more or less the historical arms of Zeulenroda(see below), but the arms of Triebes ( approved 1994) were added as inescutcheon, probably in 2014.

Shield black, issuant from base is a silver embattled wall, masoned black. Issuant from wall is a golden lion; armed, tongued and crowned red.
Meaning:
According to Ralf Hartemink the arms of Zeulenroda had been granted in 1438, when it gained city rights. It was ruled before 1500 by the Reeves of Gera. The arms thus show a city wall protected by the lion of the rulers at the time. Thus the wall is symbolizing city rights, while the lion is representing either the Princes of Reuss or their reeves of Gera. The city merged with triebes in 2006.

The shield is golden, displaying a "cross of atonement", shifted to the dexter side and to the top, held in base by a black lion's fore paw armed red.
Meaning:
The lion's paw in the arms of Triebes is a modification of the arms of the Princes of Reuss-Köstritz, possessors of Triebes since 1681. The "cross", indeed made of eight strings of jute, or corchorus, is alluding to the importance of manufacturing jute, i.e. spinning and weaving, in the past. Furthermore the strings form the letter "t". These arms were approved on 3 February 1994. From 1975-1994 Triebes had different arms, a red shield charged with a wheat ear, a distaff and a planer, all silver. Triebes city merged with Zeulenroda in 2006.

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Argent parted abased by a fess wavy Azure under an impending millwheel of the same, at sinister Gules a sword in pale Argent and a chalice Argent ordered per fess.
Meaning:
The dexter half is symbolising the three local watermills alongside the Trübebach, literally meaning the muddy creek. Sword and chalice are attributes of St. Barbara, patron saint of the church of Merkendorf-Piesigitz.
