The ratio is 3:5. The flag is horizontally divided into white and green with the coat of arms in the centre of the flag.

The banner is vertically divided into green and white with the coat of arms in the centre of the banner.

Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a silver(=white) field is a green oak tree having two golden(=yellow) acorns. The chief is divided per fess. Its dexter half shows a golden(=yellow) centred cross in a red field. Its sinister half shows a golden eagle in a red field.
Meaning:
According to Veddeler 2003, p.213 the oak tree is symbolizing the woods around the city and a 1000-years' oak (probably younger). The cross is symbolizing the archbishops of Paderborn, who had been rulers of Stukenbrock. And the eagle is symbolizing the counts of Rietberg, who had been rulers of Schloß Holte.

Flag, banner and coat of arms were approved by Regierungspräsident Detmold on 19 December 1979.
