Argent a stone pick Gules in pale.
Meaning:
The Lords of Hohenlohe acquired Neuenstein Castle from the Lords of Neuenstein shortly after 1250. Emperor Karl IV in 1351 gave his permission to found a city beneath the castle. Its importance increased, as it became the residence of the branch line of Hohenlohe-Neuenstein since the 16th century. Therefore Emperor Karl V granted the current arms in 1525. The pick's hilt however had been originally golden. It had been the family arms of the Lords of Neuenstein. The flag colours are those of the Hohenlohe kin.
