Shield parted per pale, at dexter barry of five, at dexter and sinister Or three bars Sable, at sinister shifted to top that way that the bars Sable are corresponding to the partitions Or at sinister.
Meaning:
The coat of arms is derived from the arms of the Askanian kin, who came from the area of Ballenstedt. The helmet, mantling and crest ought to be black and yellow, but for better visual distinction dark red is used instead of black in the flag.

The arms are known as arms of the Counts of Anhalt-Ballenstedt since the middle of the 16th century.
