Shield Gules an embattled tower Argent with pitched roof based on an embattled wall of the same, all with port and windows Gules.
Meaning:
After 1150 the Margraves of Meißen cultivated the area between the rivers Pleiße and Mulde. They established a new court (German: Neuer Hof) at a ford crossing the Parthe, since 1285 the existence of a castle is proven. The same time a settlement developed, which was mentioned by name in 1406. The arms are based on a city seal from 1882.
