Stadtprozelten Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, a castle Gules with gate tower with cone roof topped by a ball Or, roofs Azure and port and windows Argent, on dexter base a radiant sun Or with face, on sinister base a waxing crescent Or with face, over the port an initial "B" Or.
Meaning:
Stadtprozelten gained city rights in 1355 and was acquired by the Archbishopric of Mainz in 1484 from the Teutonic Order. The arms are based on a seal from the 16th century. The castle probably is a representation of the local base of the Teutonic Order. Sun and moon probably had been local symbols. The initial stands for Brodselden, the former name of the city. A window and a small seal from around 1600 displa different arms: On a red field a silver wall and an impending silver wheel, representing the Archbishopric of Mainz. On banner the current arms are displayed but in different tinctures as follows: background blue, castle white, port and windows black and finally roofs red.

The arms are traditional. The existence of the banner is confirmed at least since 1968.
