Shield Or a peacock passant Azure; mantled Argent, at dexter charged parted by a Latin cross Sable, at sinister parted by a Latin cross Gules.
Meaning:
All charges are related to former rulers until 1803 respectively 1806 in the area of the current county. The peacock is taken from the arms of the Counts of Wied. The black cross displays the arms of the Archbishopric of Köln, the red cross those of the Archbishopric of Trier.
