Ruderatshofen Coat of Arms

Renaissance shield parted per pale, at dexter Gules, at sinister Argent a bend Gules fretty Or.
Meaning:
The shield parted of red and white is alluding to the Bishopric of Augsburg, which acquired the Lordship of Ottilienberg with Ruderatshofen in 1610. The bend fretty is taken from the arms of the Lords of Rotenstein. It is known since 1330 by the Zürich Roll of Arms and by later seals. The Lords of Rotenstein were first mentioned in 1239. Their ancestral seat had been Grönenbach Castle. They had been in service of the Princely Abbey of Kempten and owned large estates especially in Ebenhofen. They died out in 1562.
