Shield Gules, a wolf trap Or in pale.
Meaning:
Ötigheim had been an important market town in the 15th century and had proper court seals. It already displayed the current pattern, probably being a local symbol. After a municipal constitution had been introduced, the pattern was also used in municipal seals. Since 1825 it was used in the municipal arms. It had an oval shield surrounded by palm fronds and and leafy wreath. In 1901 the tinctures of Baden were fixed and the arms were officially confirmed.
