Shield Argent a linden branch Gules in bend with five leaves.
Meaning:
The branch displays one of the two coats of arms of the Imperial Barons of Degenberg, who died out in 1602. Under their rule the village developed as seat of a few glass kilns since 1568. The existence of the arms with branch is proven by seals of the family since the 14th century. A member of the family brought the sacred image of St. Mary into the Wilde Au (= wild meadow) in 1331. Afterwards the image was called Our Lady of the Wild Meadow. The family donated land to the Benedictine Niederaltaich Abbey in 1342. Afterwards the wood was peopled by colonists from the abbey and became the core of the current municipality.
