Shield Azure, under a rainbow of Gules, Or and Azure a fleur-de-lis Argent seeded Or.
Meaning:
Regen had been a market town already before 1448. It gained city rights in 1932. The rainbow (German: Regenbogen) is a canting element. The fleur-de-lis is a local symbol, which appeared on the oldest town seal from the middle of the 15th century and in the roll of arms of Hans Mieleich (1565). He depicted the seeds as impending balls in 1568. Town seals and brands from the 17th and 18th century displayed the fleur-de-lis without rainbow. The rainbow was restored in the 19th century but reduced from five to three arcs.
