Sankt Johann Municipal Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a blue shield is a silver (= white) horse forcene, accompanied by a golden (0 yellow) ear of grain.
Meaning:
On 1 January 1975 the municipality of Würtingen merged with four other municipalities. The new municipality of Würtingen was renamed on 1 September 1976 into Sankt Johann, which is also the name of a horse breeding station on the area of the municipality. The horse is symbolizing horse breeding, the grain agriculture, the economic base in all settlement cores.

Gächingen Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a silver (= white) shield is a red cross, superimposed by a black attire. The shield has a blue, wavy base.
Meaning:
Being a property of the Counts of Urach since the 11th century Gächingen was purchased by the Counts of Württemberg between 1254 and 1265. The cross alludes to the fact that it was capital of a parish since the 15th century. The attire is representing the Counts of Württemberg. The wavy base is representing the Gächinger Lauter, a local creek, having its fountain in Gächingen.

The banner was approved on 2 August 1974 by minister of interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 1107/1974 and abolished on 1 January 1975. The coat of arms was approved on 3 June 1948 by minister of interior of Württemberg-Hohenzollern.
