Shield Gules a 5-spokes wheel Or with five grain ears of the same issuant from the spokes, in chief two escutcheons, at dexter paly-bendy of Argent and Azure, at sinister Argent a plough share Sable.
Meaning:
The ears are stressing the rural character. The number of ears and spokes is representing the former municipalities of Feldkirchen proper, Gundhöring, Hirschkofen, Mitterharthausen and Opperkofen. The escutcheons are alluding to the city arms of Straubing, which display two lozengy escutcheons and a plough. A lot of local estates was owned by institutions in the city, such as the citizens´ hospital, the fraternity of priests and the Carmelite Monastery of the Order of the Brothers of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel.
